The night before your excursion to the back of beyond, your guide will make contact with you to discuss your preferences and plan the next day.
In the Derwent Valley, we are blessed with an abundance of wilderness and mountains of exceptional beauty, and all within a short drive from The Woodbridge. Many of our guests are amazed that The Woodbridge can be so close to Hobart, in the middle of the food and wine bowl, and yet also a stone’s throw from the wilderness.
We really do have it all here!
There is lots that any tourist can visit themselves. But our guides know the hidden gems. Not for you the usual tourist walks – you can do them yourself!
For you, the best paths less trodden, and you may not see another soul.
Your guide will collect you from The Woodbridge after breakfast, at the time pre-arranged with you.
We can’t really tell you much about what you will do that day – it is, after all, your decision, not ours!
Your guide knows all the options, and he knows all the interesting bit and pieces to tell you along the way. He will listen to your preferences, he will assess your capabilities, and he will suss out your interests, and then tailor to make the most of your day.
Don’t worry – there are lots of absolutely amazing walks that are not difficult. We are spoilt for choice in the Derwent Valley!
This is a full day tour, and you will be back at The Woodbridge by mid-late afternoon, in time to ‘sleep it off’ before dinner.
The guide will be fully flexible on the day, so you can tarry as long as you like.
The guide will provide a nice little picnic in some lovely spot. It may be well away from anywhere, or he might use a shelter as the weather dictates. Please advise us of any dietary restrictions.
