Heli Distillery Crawl & Lunch

add on to your room reservation

Distillery Crawl, 1 or 2 persons + Private Helicopter

This experience is exclusive to The Woodbridge and can only be booked directly through our reservations portal.

We have partnered with Tasmanian helicopter providers to create a truly memorable package.  Optimise your time by combining spectacular scenery with several premium Tasmanian taste experiences.

The helicopter will collect you from The Woodbridge after breakfast and transfer you across iconic Tasmanian landmarks, down to the Tasman Peninsula. Land at McHenry Whisky & Gin Distillery for your first taste experience. Enjoy a tour of McHenry, famous for its sloe gin and for colour changing Butterfly gin – blue from the Butterfly pea flower botanical turning pink with the addition of tonic water.

From there you will swing across to Shene, a spectacular Gothic building and horse stable on an historic sheep, now producing premium gin and whisky. This outstanding property has been resurrected by a concerted effort over many years by the owners supported by an enthusiastic group of volunteers and with contributions from crowd-funding undertakings.

Lunch at Shene.

Then hop back onto the helicopter, and head north to finish lunch with a cheese platter at the beautiful Lawrenny. Situated on the Derwent River, Lawrenny is breath-takingly lovely seen from the air.

Lawrenny produces multi award winning whisky, gin and vodka. Enjoy a tasting with your cheese platter while sitting at the rustic garden benches under broad shady trees.

By special permission you may stretch your legs in the delightful rose garden  of this very pretty property.

Follow the Derwent River back home to The Woodbridge, following a different flight path marvelling at Tassie’s amazing landscape.

Book the experience as an ADD ON to your room reservation.

The pilots have to submit a flight plan, so they will need your weight. Please insert your weights into the Comments field of your reservation.

We will first check that our guides are available, and will then contact you when everything is confirmed.

This is a soft adventure nature package, so guests must be prepared for what nature serves up – rain, sun, cold etc.  The pilot will determine if bad weather warrants cancelling a trip or not (Package costs will be refunded if the pilot calls the trip off).

Our experience providers are carefully selected with your safety and satisfaction in mind. The pilots are affable, highly experienced, and have full accreditation and insurance.

Extend your touring air time on request, to see the spectacular Tasman Island. Additional charges apply.
