Luxury Hotel Top Experiences Tasmania

Luxury Hotel Top Experiences  #1 is about the hotel experience itself

Guests tell us that the experience of staying in the hotel is as important as the experiences to be had there. I know that that is true of John and my travels. Finding somewhere lovely to stay (and it needn’t be over the top) is the first wonderful experience. It sets the tone. We relax! We have our nest.

Then finding fabulous things to see and do is the icing on the cake.

The “experience economy” is huge in the travel industry and fewer people are settling for commonplace. It is interesting that Trip Advisor, Airbnb and others now have ‘experiences’ on their booking repertoires.

Luxury Hotel Top Experiences  #2 is ‘keep it authentic and local’

Travellers crave local experiences.

They look for authentic experiences, that reflect the communities around them.

Some companies are banking their entire business model on this trend. Withlocals offers “personalised traveling”—the opportunity for travellers to book private tours and activities with locals around the world.

And MY personal peeve is hotels where all the staff have been ‘shipped in’!

I love to be served by ‘real’ people, locals who live down the road. Staff who can share the local knowledge, where to eat, what to see, where the fish are biting.

No surprise then that  we prioritise hiring locally. Our staff take pride and ownership of our business. In fact it becomes a bit like an extended family.

We have just engaged the mum and dad of a young lady who worked with us up until quite recently. She has finally brought them out from Ukraine – some things are ‘lost in translation’ but we are giving our translation apps a beating and laughing our way through the mishaps.

And last year the teenage daughter of a past staff member applied to work with us – her mum was with us way back in the early 2000’s!

So our local staff often have a long history in the area, and they often also have a long history with The Woodbridge. They can link our guests up with all the best things to see and do. Our Website Activities Pages

Luxury Hotel Top Experiences   #3 is creating the opportunity for something standout memorable

Data insights company AirSage marks this as an emerging trend because “people no longer want boring and conventional travel experiences as much as they used to. Instead, they would rather pay for vacations that are once in a lifetime opportunities”.

Our guests are spoilt for choice for standout experiences from our doorstep
