After many many many months relocating, The Agrarian Kitchen Cooking Classes will recommence on Saturday 29 October 2022.
12 years after the school opened, it was closed….. but it wasn’t bad news.
It was moved from its original home in Lachlan and moved into New Norfolk alongside the restaurant. It has also meant starting from scratch with a new garden..
Classes will be scheduled three months in advance. Masterclasses will include natural cheese making, bread making, handmade pasta, charcuterie, the whole hog and baking. And more will be launched in the coming months.

The new walled vegetable garden has been over two years in the making. It all began in 2020 with a donation from a friend’s backyard. Rodney & Severing’s team relocated four 30-year-old espaliered apple trees to line the entrance to the garden. The soil was ripped, inoculated with beneficial bacteria and tarped. Edges were installed, beds built, paths laid, greenhouses erected, ponds dug, berries planted, bays built, irrigation laid. It almost sounds too easy!
The garden’s primary purpose is to provide high quality, nutrient dense fruit and vegetables. This produce will be used in the Agrarian Kitchen Cooking Classes as well as the AK restaurant and kiosk. Underlying this production is a garden system focused on promoting a flourishing of soil and insect life, building soil fertility.
The garden will also form the centrepiece for the new gardening classes, led by AK gardeners, Mitch and Josh.
Beginning December 2022, the garden will also be open for guided tours. These will be 1-hour in duration and will need to be prebooked online. Bookings will open in mid-November on our website.
