Bride and groom standing in the Juliet window - perfect romantic wedding photography

Perfect romantic wedding photography came knocking. So glad we said “yes”!

Perfect Romantic Wedding Photography

The most perfect romantic wedding photography came knocking at our door – well, actually it was a phone call!

I don’t usually take a lot of notice of unsolicited approaches. There are not enough hours in the day for the things I have to do,

But there was something about her voice. “Young, inexperienced, just starting out,” I thought. Something about my mother instinct, or about my past life as a teacher clicked in. “Give her a go”, I thought. “Doesn’t matter if they are not marvellous. Support her! You might get one or two decent shots.”

She had said she wanted to do a bridal shoot at The Woodbridge. She would arrange models and props. She promised a folio of images that I would have full access to.

“What could it hurt?” I thought.

Boy was I wrong! Not wrong about the “what could it hurt”. Wrong about almost everything else.

She came, precisely on time as arranged, stayed exactly the time arranged, totally professional. She left, and I felt that good feeling you get when you do a kindness.

Some weeks later she contacted me with the folio of images. They were beautiful. Perfect romantic wedding photography, just as promised. She had captured the simple, unpretentious beauty of The Woodbridge.

But there was something fresh about her work. I have had photographers there before, many paid for, results far from delighting. Her photographs were so natural, not contrived, but she captured that special something. She caught light and shadow, form and balance. She saw things and caught images differently yet authentically.

Who did who a kindness that day?

Thank you, Courteney Lee Photography for your wonderful eye, and for coming knocking on my door that day. What a serendipity!
