Tasmanian boutique accommodation takes many forms. We focus on quiet relaxation.
Guests love our relaxed, understated style.
Our room aesthetic is classic Georgian simplicity meets modern minimalist, deliberately uncluttered to still the mind.
With just 9 accommodations, The Woodbridge is intimate, private
but definitely not pretentious.
We use dynamic pricing. The rate is different depending on which room and may be different for different dates.

Small groups of family or friends travelling together often prefer to have rooms in close proximity.
We have several combinations of rooms that work well together.
Unlike many historic hotels, we do not have rooms in barn conversions or modern annexes. All our rooms & suites are in the original Mansion.
All rooms & suites have river views. Upper floors look down over the gardens and river, the lower floor opens onto the Wisteria Terrace.
Rooms are similarly fitted out, but they reflect the charm of a heritage building. There is not the conformity of a new-build. Each room has its own unique character. Rooms seamlessly blend 200-year-old blackwood floors and original multi-pane windows with modern furniture and amenity. Upstairs has higher ceilings, and downstairs has lower ceilings and stonewalled corridors.
On most occasions we are able to supply your room of first choice. However, The Woodbridge reserves the right to supply an equivalent room if necessary.
Relax, there are no dust gatherers at The Woodbridge! The only concession to a doily is a magnificent framed exhibit in the Ballroom. Furniture is Italian in design, with clean lines and an emphasis on comfort. Surfaces are streamlined for easy sanitising. Rather than have the usual dusty drapes, we have opted instead for a modern take on Georgian shutters.
Woodbridge is not set up to accommodate babies and young children. Responsible ‘young adults’, at least 8 years will feel right at home. We do not have roll away beds. Therefore children will need to feel comfortable in their own ‘separate’ but adjacent room.
