It commemorates Alloway Banks, the former Dutch Barn that once stood on the property before being removed during construction of the New Norfolk bridge approach in 1971. The suite opens onto the Wisteria Terrace with uninterrupted views across the Derwent River.

Luxury Spa Suite with River Terrace

Alloway Banks is ideal for couples seeking privacy, comfort and uninterrupted views of the Derwent River. Located on the lower ground floor of the historic mansion, the suite combines heritage character with contemporary simplicity in a relaxed room-only setting. It opens directly onto the Wisteria Terrace overlooking the Derwent River. The spacious bedroom enjoys garden and Derwent River views, while the separate sitting room provides additional space to relax. The ensuite bathroom includes a shower over a corner spa bath large enough for two, with a grab rail for added support.

The uncluttered design and clean lines create a calm, restful retreat.

The original fireplaces are retained as heritage features but are no longer operational.

For families or friends travelling together, The Alloway Banks can be booked alongside The Lindley, The Academy or The Arches.
