Hobart and Surrounds Getaways – FAQs

 

When selecting a Hobart and surrounds getaway, there are lots of questions to be asked.

The Woodbridge is perfect for your Tasmania escape, being ideally located for exploring all of Southern Tasmania.

These frequently asked questions will help ensure a smooth stay.

Arriving at The Woodbridge

 

  1. Our address is 6 Bridge St, New Norfolk. GPS is accurate.
  2. Our Mobile Concierge contact is +61 417996305. We are happy to help with directions, suggestions and advice.
  3. Checkin is planned for 15:00-17:00 but we are happy to work with you for times outside of this.
  4. On arrival, our gates will be closed. Please checkin at reception to receive your keys and electric gate controller.
  5. Each guest is supplied with 2 keys, FD for the main door entrance, and R for the room. The R key will also access external doors for those rooms with same. All deadlocks to external doors are disabled during occupancy to ensure fire escape.
  6. If you are arriving outside of the scheduled times we will arrange key pickup from a lock-box if we cannot be there to welcome you.
  7. If you would like contactless checkin, we will arrange a lock-box for you. Checkout key-drop is contactless.

Parking & Vehicles

 

  1. We have onsite parking for 1 normal sized car/room. Free street parking for larger vehicles.
  2. Onsite parkers can stop at main door to house to unload luggage, and then proceed to parking. Please park nose in to fence line.
  3. Hose to wash car in carpark, or coin-carwash/vacuum nearby.
  4. Bins in carpark. Yellow is recycling glass, plastic, aluminium, cardboard.
  5. Electric car charge at service station nearby.
  6. We don’t have a lift. Staircases to Alloway Banks, Lindley, Arches, Sarah Schaw are 15 steps. There may be one or two steps elsewhere.

Settling in

  2. Our water is sweet and pure. Drink straight from the tap. There are also water filter units if you prefer.
  3. Each room has coffee pod machine, electric jug, small fridge, basic cups, plates, cutlery, tea towel.
  4. There is a guest kitchenette and dining area with microwave, egg cooker, toaster, sandwich press, fridge space, crockery and cutlery.
  5. Please do use the kitchenette and dining area so that we can minimise food in rooms.
  6. We do not put milk in rooms – please select which long-life milk you would like from the guest kitchenette
  7. There is an ice machine and thermos jugs in guest kitchenette if you would like cool water for your room.
  8. There are wine glasses and insulated wine buckets for your use.
  9. There are plenty of power-points, including beside points. Extension cords, double adaptors please contact Mobile Concierge Service.

Heating & Cooling

 

  1. We suggest that you pack lots of light clothing layers that you can add or remove as the day evolves. Tassie can have 3 seasons in a day!
  2. There are fans and heating throughout.
  3. All but 2 of the rooms have reverse cycle (hot & cold) air conditioners – Lindley and Arches are very well insulated with very thick walls.
  4. Unfortunately because of false callouts to the fire brigade services, we no longer allow fires in rooms. The chimneys are closed off.
  5. There are blankets/doonas in blanket box of each room.
  6. Hot water bottles are available in the guest kitchenette. Use only hot (not boiling) water and make sure the lid is on securely.

More Room information

 

  1. All rooms in the house are non-smoking.
  2. All rooms are fitted with monitored smoke alarms.
  3. The Alloway Banks, Lindley, Arches and Three Bridges open onto garden terraces. All rooms are close to outdoor sitting areas.
  4. All rooms have unlimited free wifi.
  5. All rooms have smart TVs – sign in with your own apps. The SBS channel has lots of international news and programmes.
  6. There is air freshener and insect spray in the cupboard.
  7. All but 2 rooms have a shower above a bath – Capt Roadknight and Arches have shower only.
  8. Capt Roadknight room is ideal for any guest with mobility restrictions and a shower seat is available via th Mobile Concierge.
  9. If you would prefer a bar of soap rather than bath/shower gel, please let us know.
  10. Our toilets work on a septic macerator pump – please avoid blockages and put only toilet paper into toilets. No sanitary items, please!
  11. There is air freshener and insect spray in the cupboard.
  12. There is drying rails on the wall of the bathroom, and the aluminium clothes hangers in the cupboard are suitable for drip drying wet clothes.

  14. There are luggage racks in every room.
  15. There are blankets/doonas in blanket box of each room and hot water bottles can be collected from guest kitchenette.
  16. There is iron and small ironing boards in each room. There are larger ironing boards available in dining area and downstairs hall.

General facilities

 

  1. All guests are invited to use the outdoor seating in the entrance patio, the garden tables under the almond trees, the various garden seating areas and the seating on the river pontoon.
  2. The garden path takes you down to the river esplanade, and you can continue walking along the river. You will pass the 3 bridgeheads including the original 1834 convict-built stone construction of the first bridge across the Derwent River. Along the esplanade there are a series of exercise equipment and the local heated outdoor pool. At the far end you reach a sandstone cliff – steps will take you over to continue along the river or turn right to follow the rivulet.
  3. Please feel at home. Turn lights and heating in common areas on and off as you need them. The floor and table lamps are on timers as are the hall lights. Hall lights go off at 23:00, but hall walking lights remain on 24/7.
  4. In consideration of all guest, Quiet Time is 22:00-8:00.
  5. All external doors not in use are deadlocked for security. There are monitored security alarms, security cameras and video surveillance across the property, as well as motion sensor lights for your convenience.
  6. Light housekeeping is available every second or third day on request. Additional suppliers are available any time via our Mobile Concierge Service.
