Tasmanian Distilleries Tour

Tasmanian Distilleries

Yet another tasty addition to our guest experiences, this Tasmanian Distilleries Tour is just 5 mins walk from Woodbridge

Our Tasmanian Distilleries Tour, ‘The Spirit of the Derwent’, introduces guests to our fabulous local spirits.

The development of the local Tasmanian food and wine scene has been quite something since we opened Woodbridge in 2007. Furthermore, the more recent addition of distilleries, whisky, gin and vodka, as well as artisan breweries, add a whole new dimension. Naturally, these are great inclusions to our luxury hotel Tasmanian Distilleries Tour.

Hello RUM. You are most welcome.

Now a rum distillery is being added to the mix, and it is only a 5 minutes walk away. Guests will be able walk there, and not have to worry about driving home to Woodbridge.

We anticipate that rum production will start in January 2020.

So now we have most spirits covered. The addition of rum to our offering totally rounds off the 2019-2020 Distilleries Tour for our guests.

It is all covered – spirits, wines and artisan brews.

Our chauffeured Distilleries Day Tour complements our Wine Cellar Day Tour. As the tours are exclusive to Woodbridge we can combine elements of the two, and tailor to guest preferences.

Woodbridge is surrounded by vineyards of renown. Stefano Lubiana, Meadowbank, Derwent Estate and Pooley are multi-award winning wineries. Additionally the name Ouse Wines might not ring a bell, but these are the grapes that have been winning medals for some famous mainland wines for years. And then there are those tiny, almost ‘cottage industry’ wineries, like Ryelands, quietly and unassumingly, and oh so lovingly producing some magnificent vintages.

Nearby Nant whisky distillery is a firm guest favourite. However, relative newcomer, Lawrenny Estate has the trifecta producing whisky, gin and vodka. They say is the key is the water.

Our luxury hotel Tasmanian distilleries tour and cellar door tours may also take in local small-scale breweries. These include the Eleventh Order, and the iconic farm-based Two Metre Tall.
