Coronavirus closes Tasmanian borders

Coronavirus closes Tasmanian borders – this was a highly-supported move by our government, but we knew there’d be huge consequences.

As it turns out, other states have followed suit, and now even regions, like the Douglas Shire are also closing ‘borders’.

Tourism businesses everywhere are shuddering. They are scrambling to minimise damage, but there is no doubt that many businesses will not survive.

These are the decisions that we have made:

THE WOODBRIDGE IS NOW AND WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL OCTOBER.

We have been in contact with all guests with bookings for March, April, May and June.
Most have rescheduled for October.
In the event that October proves to be wishful thinking, we will revisit rescheduling with our guests.
We are grateful to our guests for their graciousness, their support and their concern for our and our staff’s livelihoods.

Our BOOK NOW button is currently disabled.
We do not want to take additional reservations when ‘the end point’ is still unknown.

We will reinstate the BOOK NOW capability as soon as we are confident that we will be able to fulfil the promise for October and beyond.

Meanwhile, we are using this time of ‘forced reflection’ to review our business. We do this every winter closedown, anyway, as we are continuously adapting to changes in guest preferences.
And Coronavirus may dictate long-term changes to how things are done.

We are, of course, hoping that our BOOK NOW button will be running hot once it is reinstated.

WE NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER!
