We have always felt blessed that Rodney Dunn and Severine Demarat came to stay at Woodbridge back in 2008. In fact, we take full credit for them staying in the Derwent Valley and starting their Cooking School here. You see, they were originally thinking of going to another part of Tasmania, but we explained to them that the Derwent Valley was had an abundance of fabulous produce and unlimited pure clean water which was leading the expansion of the vineyards and berry fields and distilleries into the valley.
After investigating, they agreed, and purchased the old school house in Lachlan, just 5-10 minutes from Woodbridge, for their paddock to plate cooking school. Then in 2017 they set up their restaurant, the acclaimed Agrarian Kitchen Eatery, just 5-10 minutes WALK from Woodbridge.
Now …. drum roll …. they are moving the cookery school to the same site as the Eatery, which means our guests can walk to the cooking classes, and then waddle back home (all downhill!) to Woodbridge after a day of too much eating!
