‘Direct to you’ Ratho Golf Package
Golf was born in Scotland and brought to Tasmania by pioneering Scottish settlers in 1822. Today the Ratho Links is recognised as Australia’s oldest golf course, and is the oldest known golf course still existing outside Scotland….. we just love the way the greens are fenced off from the sheep!
The Ratho Golf Links is a public golf course, open to all golfers throughout the year. The green fee is only $15 for either 9 or 18holes, with funds going towards the maintenance and restoration of the golf links. Please pay this fee on the day – in true country fashion, the green fees are paid into an honesty box!
At the clubhouse, visitors can sign the National Golf Register, to acknowledge that they have played Australia’s Oldest Golf Course.
Sensible walking shoes and a waterproof jacket are advised.
Hickory sticks and feathery balls may be available for your experience. Ask our Concierge Service to enquire.
As Ratho is home to the local golf club, on some occasions visitors will find a competition in progress. These generally have small but friendly fields of up to a dozen golfers, and golfers are welcome to follow along.
