Private Cooking Classes

Sally-Anne Wise has a long career as a cooking presenter on ABC TV and is th acclaimed author of 9 cook books including the best-selling “Year in a Bottle” and “Slow Cookery”. She is locally known as Tasmania’s answer to Maggie Beer. Sally has also come to our valley because of the abundance of produce here and has established her cookery school in a rural setting, just 10 minutes from us. She sources the best on offer and designs her cookery classes around the produce available. Sally has agreed to take private classes for Woodbridge guests, so you can ask in advance for what you would like to do. Sally suggests 9am-1pm is ‘enough’ for most people, but is happy to do longer classes. ‘Supper is served’ in the garden or the dining room of the Cookery School at the end of the class.

The Agrarian Kitchen, a hands-on farm-based, small-class cooking school situated in a rural 19th century schoolhouse , is a mere 10 minutes from Woodbridge.  Established by Rodney Dunn, former food editor of Australian Gourmet Traveller magazine and one-time apprentice to Australian Chef Tetsuya Wakuda, these group classes are run by Rodney, and a supporting cast of Tasmanian cooks and producers, including Sally-Anne Wise. This is a full day experience.
